Slovenia’s
Adriatic Coast (also known as Istrian
Coast) is a hilly landscape often
compared to Provence due to the
prevalence of olive groves and
vineyards. The major towns along
the coast are:
- Piran – situated at
the end of a peninsula, a city
which has preserved its medieval
heritage and superb Venetian
Gothic architecture
- Koper - the 2nd largest Adriatic
port after Venice
- Izola – an island fishing
town
- Portoroz- most popular for
tourism due to its attractions
of a large casino, marina and
annual fairs
The coast enjoys long hot summers
with temperatures between May and
September of 20-26 °C (68 – 79 °F).
Winters are relatively mild between
7-9 °C. |
The coast
is approx 1 hour by car from Brnik
airport which lies 20 km south
of the capital, Ljubljana. Easy

London Stansted. The national carrier
Adria Airways also offer regular

cities including Frankfurt, Munich,
Vienna, Zurich, Brussels, Paris,
